Beware the Blow

Posted by: Marcelo Galvani In: Tips

Went in the Jornal de Uberaba:

"One more ...
While we're on scams, the reader Fernando alert to the reloading blow Prize Program Domingo Legal. Through the message by phone, warning that the customer has won a prize and asks that returns the connection to the number-0xx85 9618-5159. After confirming that your service in the promotion does not exist. Fernando decided to pay to see.

Extortion
Fernando called and was attended by well-educated woman with Carioca accent that confirmed the award but said it was forced to call a home phone. As I had was the phone booth and called, but was not granted. Later learned through the police, the scammers call landline to be able to squeeze out all forms, with some even asking for money from tickets go to receive such a prize ... "

The best thing to do when something suspicious happens is to check with the company itself said, via formal channels, for example, the customer service phone numbers published on corporate websites. Sometimes the scam is so new that neither the police are aware. Another option is to search the web and find pages like this warning.
